Guess the Location

One official GTA VI image, six regions of Leonida: it’s up to you to say where it was taken. Five images per day, the same for everyone.

Each answer lights up the right region on the map and leads to its page: you learn Leonida as you play.

Guess the Location

The game picks the day’s images in your browser: it needs JavaScript. Without it, you’ll find the six regions and their pages below.

The rules

How to play

  1. Five images per day

The draw changes at midnight, Paris time. Everyone gets the same images: you can compare your score with your friends.

  2. One region per image

Answer with the buttons or on the map. The same region comes up twice at most in a game, and an image never comes back the next day.

  3. The answer, right away

The right region lights up on the map, with what the image shows, its official title and the link to the region’s page.

  4. Your streak, then free play

Finish the daily game to extend your streak. After that, keep going with random images, as much as you like.

Where the images come from

Official screenshots only

The game only shows images that Rockstar itself sorted by region.

On its GTA VI screenshots page, Rockstar sorts its images by region: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. The game uses the images from these six series that the site has among its official artwork, and only those: the right answer is always Rockstar’s.

8 days to see them all

The 40 images are split into 8-day cycles: each game draws 5 you haven’t had yet in the cycle, never more than 2 from the same region, and none comes back the next day. Each cycle is shuffled differently.

The game’s map is the site’s map: a background drawn by the community from official media, not a map published by Rockstar. Each region sits on its marker from the interactive map; you guess a region, never an exact spot.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do the Guess the Location images come from the leaks?
No. Only the official screenshots Rockstar published on its website, sorted by region. The site uses nothing from the leaks.
Why are some images so hard?
Rockstar also puts portraits and night scenes in its region series: with no landscape, you have to guess from the vibe. They’re the hardest images in the game.
Is my score saved anywhere?
Only on your device: your answers for the day, your streak, your stats and your album, in your browser’s storage, under a single key. Nothing is sent; sharing only passes the text of your result to the app you choose.
Can you replay the daily game?
Only once: that’s what makes scores comparable. After that, free play draws random images, with no limit and without touching your streak.
How do I fill my album?
Every image from the daily game goes into your album as soon as you answer, filed under its region. All 40 images come up once in each 8-day cycle; free play doesn’t fill the album.
Will new images be added?
When new official screenshots sorted by region reach the site, they join the game. The regions stay the six Rockstar has shown, unless it announces more.
