Money guide
GTA VI comes out on November 19, 2026. Rockstar has already shown several ways to make money, without giving a single amount. Here is each one, what we know about it, and the ranking in dollars per hour, which fills in as soon as earnings are recorded in the game.
The ranking
No earnings have been published yet. The ranking fills in on its own as soon as an amount and a duration are recorded in the game, with the source and date of each figure.
| Method | Earnings | Duration | Per hour | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robbing a store | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
| Stealing a car | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
| Hunting | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
| Racing and off-roading | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
| Jet skis, kayaks, diving and airboats | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
| Story missions | At launch | At launch | At launch | Not recorded yet |
The per-hour calculation: what the method leaves you (the earnings, minus costs and other players’ share), divided by the time it takes, including prep and waiting. It’s the same calculation as the calculator’s “My activities” tool.
What Rockstar has shown
Each of the site’s 7 activities has its own page. For each one, we know whether it makes money, but never how much.

Official
Cash, and sometimes loot to sell: garages have a stash for stolen goods, which a fence buys for less than they’re worth. Neither what’s in a register nor the discount rate has been published.

Series benchmark
These benchmarks come from GTA V’s story mode. Nothing is confirmed for GTA VI: they only say what to look at when it launches.
The story’s five heists are prepared over several missions, and the choices made during preparation change what they pay.
