The safehouses of Leonida

What Rockstar has shown

A safehouse, a boatyard, a motel: three places shown, then edition texts that finally describe the system.

  1. Seen in media

    Trailer 1

A motel room, curtain drawn: Jason and Lucia at the Starlet Motel in Port Gellhorn (around 1:12). The sign, readable in the 2025 screenshots, made it possible to place it on the map.

    Trailer 2 and screenshots

Brian’s boatyard, with the Brian’s Boat Works & Marina sign readable at night around 1:25, and Jason’s fight in the Starlet parking lot around 1:54. A motel room shows up again around 2:25.

  3. Official

    Editions

Rockstar calls the house in the Keys “Jason’s Safehouse” and describes two garages: Paradise in Watson Bay (Ultimate Edition, with the Dominator Buggy ’67) and Shore Court, “a stone’s throw from Ocean Beach” (Vintage Vice City Pack, with the Stanier ’55). Each one has a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods, which a local fence buys at a discount. Personal garages exist “throughout Leonida”.

    Extended Look and demo

The Starlet Motel shows up again around 25:58. The next day, Rob Nelson (Rockstar North) told Famitsu that you change safehouses as the chapters go on, that you start with three vehicle slots and buy garages to get more; long guns go in a locker at Ammu-Nation.

Open questions

What’s still to be confirmed

The safehouse system has been described in bits and pieces. Here are the gaps.

Buy a safehouse?

No, according to the September 2026 press previews: they unlock through the story. Only garages can be bought; no Rockstar page confirms it.

The price of a garage

No number published.

Paradise and Shore Court from the start?

Unknown. GTABase says “free, during the game” with no source.

How many slots per garage

Not published. Only the starting total is known: three vehicles.

The stash and the fence

Described in the edition texts; the discount rate isn’t given.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions people type into a search engine, with short, dated answers.

How many safehouses are in GTA VI?
No number published. Only one address officially carries the safehouse name, “Jason’s Safehouse”; Rob Nelson told Famitsu that you change safehouses as the chapters go on. The lists with three safehouses come from fan sites.
Can you buy garages?
Yes, according to Rob Nelson (Famitsu, August 28, 2026): you start with three vehicle slots and buy garages on the map to get more. No price is published.
What’s in a personal garage?
According to the edition texts (June 24, 2026): a weapon locker to put together your loadout and a stash to drop off stolen goods, which a local fence then buys at a discount.
Is the Starlet Motel a safehouse?
It’s shown in Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look, always with Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has never called it a safehouse: the site lists it as “seen in media”, without claiming anything more.
Where are Watson Bay and Shore Court?
Watson Bay is home to the Ultimate Edition’s Paradise garage; Shore Court is “a stone’s throw from Ocean Beach” according to the Vintage Pack text. With no address from Rockstar, only a “Paradise Garage” spotted by the community is placed, in Watson Bay.

Sources and statuses

Every claim on this page has a status and comes from a page opened on the date shown. Rockstar pages are cited with the date they were last opened directly; their texts were reread on September 27, 2026 in the sources that reproduce them.

Official

A page, text or video published by Rockstar on its own channels (GTA VI site, Newswire, trailers, Extended Look), or by Take-Two, Sony or Microsoft, written the way they said it, with the date.

Seen in media

What an official image or clip shows without any Rockstar text saying it (a trailer shot, a screenshot, a moment from the Extended Look, with the timestamp when known), or what a named outlet reports, including statements by a Rockstar representative, with the outlet and the date.

Community identification

A match made by players, a wiki or a fan site (real place, actor, county). Quoted as such, never presented as confirmed.

To be confirmed

A question with no published answer: price, purchase, access, role in the story. We write it down instead of guessing.
