Leonida Keys
A string of islands where people live off the sea, fishing and quiet smuggling.
A tropical archipelago linked by long roads over the water. Locals live off fishing, seaside bars and quiet smuggling: Jason lives there on a property owned by Brian Heder, whose boatyard still moves goods on the side.
Overview
The Leonida Keys are a string of islands in the south of the state, linked by bridges and roads built over the water. Rockstar describes a life that moves to the rhythm of the sea, between fishing, marinas, beach bars and the occasional bit of smuggling, far from the hustle of Vice City. This is where Jason lives, rent-free on one of Brian Heder’s properties in exchange for a few favors, and where Cal Hampton spends his days listening in on Coast Guard frequencies. Brian’s boatyard, with its sign visible in Trailer 2, still serves as a transit point for his goods. The official screenshots show kayaks, airboats, jet skis and small marinas along the coastal roads.
In the artwork and in the story
The Keys are Jason’s starting point: it’s where he lives, in a house lent to him by Brian Heder, and where Cal Hampton spends his days in front of his scanner. Trailer 2 shows the house on stilts there, Brian’s boatyard and a jet ski ride with Lucia. The official screenshots add The Rusty Anchor bar, a dive near a reef, a boat party and an iguana at the water’s edge.
On the ground
In the game, the archipelago should revolve around the sea: fishing boats, kayaks, seaplanes, marinas. The Leonidakit map already places the elevated roads, the islands and the bridges, with Brian’s boatyard as the first named landmark. Water activities, if Rockstar details any, will be added on top.
