The boxed version
- The box contains a download code, not a disc.
- It’s available from November 12, 2026, for delivery or pickup at the retailer, and its code lets you preload the game from that day.
- There’s no boxed Ultimate Edition: with the boxed version, you buy the Ultimate upgrade digitally once the code is redeemed.
- It can also be pre-ordered on the Rockstar Store: for an order problem or a cancellation, Xsolla support handles it, and taxes may be added outside the United States and the United Kingdom.
Preloading and release
- Preloading starts on November 12, 2026 at midnight, local time.
- Release is on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Codes and regions
- PlayStation: a code is tied to an account country or region; the purchase must match the account’s region.
- Xbox: codes aren’t limited to one region.
- Japan: PlayStation codes expire 170 days after their issue date, which is set to launch day, November 19, 2026.
