Which business should you pick early in GTA VI?
A customization shop, a tattoo parlor, a club, a label: Rockstar has shown businesses, not their prices. Here is how to think about your first business even before knowing the numbers, with one simple rule: a purchase is worth it when it pays for itself faster than the time you plan to play.

What Rockstar has shown
The businesses Rockstar has shown
Eight businesses have a page on the site. None has a price, and Rockstar hasn’t said which ones can be bought.

What the official texts say: Boobie Ike turned his street years into a legal empire, real estate, club and label, and all he’s missing is a hit. It’s the only business model Rockstar tells in detail. The Ultimate Edition, for its part, gives access to the Rideout Customs shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 store, the Electric Fang parlor and the One-Eyed Willie’s shop, without specifying whether these accesses are in-game purchases or services. The Businesses page keeps each page up to date, with its status.
Paying for itself
The payback rule
A business costs a purchase price and brings in an income per session. The right criterion is the number of sessions before the income has paid back the price.
Write down the price and the income
The purchase price, the income per payout and the frequency of payouts. In GTA V, most businesses paid out a profit every seven in-game days; that’s a series benchmark, not a GTA VI rule.
Count in sessions, not in hours
An income per in-game week is worth nothing if you play one hour a week. Convert everything into sessions: how many sessions to pay it back? That’s what “Is it worth it?” does.
Compare with playing without
If, during the payback time, you earn more doing robberies or races, the business waits. The calculator always compares with what you were already earning without the purchase.
Keep a margin for the missions
Some missions may require cash on hand or a specific purchase. A business that empties your account at the wrong time blocks the story. The business plan flags it.
Depending on your play time
Three player profiles, three first purchases
Without an official number, we can already reason by profile. The amounts will come to fill in the boxes.
| Side | What matters | The first purchase to look at |
|---|---|---|
| One hour a week | Play time is scarce: every session has to pay off right away | A work tool rather than a business: whatever makes robberies and thefts more profitable per hour |
| One hour a day | Passive income starts to matter: a business pays for itself in a few weeks | The business with the shortest payback, even a modest one |
| Whole evenings | You can do everything: the order of purchases becomes the real question | The business that unlocks the most activities, then the others in the plan’s order |
The site’s Best business page pushes this reasoning further, with GTA V benchmarks presented as such, and tables that sort themselves the day a price or an income is published with its source.
Honestly
What we still don’t know, and how the site will say it
- Which businesses can be bought. Rockstar has named no business for sale. The site’s pages display a possible purchase only when it is confirmed, and say so plainly.
- Their price and their income. No amount, no payout frequency. The tables on the money pages display “At release” and explain why.
- Whether money is shared between Jason and Lucia. A rule that changes any two-character plan; the calculator asks you for your assumption.
- What an arrest costs. Rob Nelson describes a “Busted” screen; the amount is not published.

The day a number is published, it enters the site’s data with its status, its source and its date, and the calculator offers it as a reference. You can follow what’s confirmed on What’s confirmed, and compare your own records with the site’s.
