Overview
The official screenshots show two wild mammals without naming them: a cougar and a raccoon, both in Mount Kalaga. The Game Informer cover story announces more than 30 land mammals and names, among the invasive species, the feral cat and the rhesus macaque, which no image has shown yet.
What the images show
At the Mount Kalaga watering hole, a cougar moves forward in the foreground, facing a group of deer. In the off-road race screenshot, a raccoon with a clearly visible mask runs over a pile of rubble, between the motorcycles and the ATVs. In Grassrivers, a dead wild cat is laid out on an airboat’s bench seat, next to an alligator: a bobcat, judging by its silhouette, though that’s not certain.
What happens in the game
Nothing has been published about these animals in the game: no danger, no hunting, no encounters. The official Grassrivers text mentions predators far more dangerous than the alligator, without naming them.
