Overview

Birds are everywhere in the official images, but rarely up close. In the Game Informer cover story, Michael Kane announces more than 60 kinds of birds and lists flamingos and pelicans among Leonida’s native species. The site groups them on a single page until a species is shown clearly enough to earn its own.

What the images show

In Grassrivers, ducks swim near the stilts, white birds land on posts, and wading birds splash through shallow water during a chase: a pink one that recalls the roseate spoonbill, and a gray one, like a heron. Gulls land on the Ocean Beach lifeguard tower and on the roof of the Rusty Anchor, in the Keys. The pink flamingos visible in the screenshots are inflatable pool floats.

What happens in the game

Nothing has been published about what the game does with birds: no birdwatching, no hunting, no collecting. Species names identified from silhouettes are still to be confirmed.
