Overview

Deer are the large herbivores of the official images. A screenshot of Mount Kalaga National Park, the park in northern Leonida, shows four of them gathered at a watering hole. They look like the white-tailed deer, the species found in real-life Florida, but Rockstar hasn’t named it: the site simply calls them deer. The Game Informer cover story announces more than 30 land mammals.

What the images show

A doe drinks at the watering hole; behind her, a young one and an adult stand, and an antlered buck lies in the grass. In the foreground, a cougar creeps forward, paws in the water: the scene suggests a hunt without showing it.

What happens in the game

Rockstar presents Mount Kalaga as prime hunting grounds, and hunting makes money according to Rob Nelson, quoted by creator TGG. That said, nothing says deer can be hunted in the game.
