What you need to know
The Sabre Turbo blends the Chevrolet Chevelle and the Oldsmobile Cutlass, two General Motors midsize cars that shared the same platform in the early 70s. It was the golden age of big V8s, brutally cut short by the 1973 oil crisis. As for the Turbo suffix, it’s a tuning thing: these engines never had forced induction from the factory.
